Acclaimed chef Jason Atherton is all set to open his first restaurant in Middle East, Marina Social, in the third quarter of 2015 at Intercontinental Dubai Marina. It will be a waterfront diner, hosting a deformalised fine-dining experience, with an adjoining bar called The Social Room.
The restaurant will serve British fusion cuisine, in a classic social setup. The idea is to offer Michelin star quality food without pretence, encouraging people to come over for both a quick bite and a relaxed meal, or enjoy the selection of drinks and snacks at the bar.
Atherton presented a teaser of Marina Social’s offerings at the Dubai Food Festival Beach Canteen. Led by chef Patron Tristin Farmer, the pop up served over a 1000 smoked lobsters dressed in lemon butter sauce, seared tuna with avocado, cured cucumber and horseradish, and goat’s cheese churros with truffled honey.
Marina Social and The Social Room will open in September 2015, following the May opening of Dubai marina’s InterContinental Dubai Marina. The hotel will include 328 rooms, residencies and suites, along with a collection of nine signature food and beverage outlets.
