5 facts-to-know to capture travellers from KSA

Research released by YouGov in Travel Oracle – KSA Highlights report reveals some interesting facts about preferences of travellers from Saudi Arabia; this insight can in turn help hoteliers align their strategies and marketing plans to maximum effect.

1. Top three criteria when selecting a vacation destination - good weather (39%), reasonable cost (38%) and family destination attraction (34%)

2. UAE tops the list as the most popular travel destination, with one in five Saudi Arabian residents (19%) having visited during their last leisure trip. Following UAE are Turkey, Egypt and Jordan.

3. Online flight booking - 38% book their flights through online travel agents compared to the overall MENA average of 28%.

4. Accommodation Preference - one-third of residents usually choose to stay at budget hotels, 25% stay at luxury hotels, and a further third one-third opt for serviced apartments when traveling for leisure.

5. Online hotel reservations - online travel agents are also the most popular booking method at 22%, followed by travel booking websites with 17% and direct offline bookings at 17%.
