Jumeirah Beach Hotel hosted MBC’s press conference to promote the launch of UK talent-spotting TV show, ‘X Factor’ in the Middle East.
The jury included some of the biggest artists in the region — former Arab Idol judge Ragheb Alama, Lebanese singer Elissa and Egyptian actress and singer Donia Samir Ghanem.
The event was attended by local, regional and global journalists, including MBC’s senior management and production team.
Mazen Hayek, MBC Group’s official spokesman and group director of PR & commercial, said: “We are delighted to add The X Factor to MBC’s strong line-up of global talent shows. Viewers in the MENA region will be able to benchmark MBC The X Factor with the global version of the same show.”
The press conference, hosted in Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s C&I building, started with a performance by ‘Little Mix,’ a UK girl group who won the British version of the show in 2011.
Little Mix flew to Dubai from the UK for the performance and stayed at Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
The global talent spotting show which originated in the UK, now has franchises all over the world.
The show attracts millions of viewers worldwide and this edition aims to find the best talent across the MENA region.
Weekly episodes will be aired on Saturdays throughout March on MBC4 and MBC MASR, before the live elimination rounds begin.
