Ramada Sharjah general manager bags Wyndham award

Ramada Sharjah general manager Alper Can Bulcum was named EMEAI General Manager of the Year for 2014 by the Wyndham Hotel Group at the hotel operator’s global conference in Las Vegas, USA.

Can Bulcum has been with the hotel since December 2013 and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and management of hotel staff.

He was picked as the winner for demonstrating strategic management skills and for his passion for the hospitality industry.

Wyndham Hotel Group president and managing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and the Indian Ocean Daniel Ruff commented: “Alper is a great leader because of his ability to provide strategic direction, drive revenue and create meaningful relationships with guests and the local community.

“Alper is an asset to our brand and I offer my sincere congratulations to him. I look forward to seeing his enthusiasm for hospitality fuel the hotel’s success moving forward.”

Wyndham also announced a number of key marketing initiatives during the conference, including the relaunch of its loyalty programme, access to better technology, and emphasis on quality and brands.
