Melia signs two new GCC hotels in Doha and Dubai

Meliá Hotels International has signed two new properties in the GCC – ME Doha and Meliá Downtown Residences Dubai.

ME Doha, scheduled to open in 2017, will be the group’s second hotel in the country.

The hotel will comprise 235 rooms, business and convention facilities, and an executive area, in addition to a fitness centre and spa.

The hotel will also feature three restaurants, an open-air cinema and three bars housed within the property.

Meliá Downtown Residences will open in 2018 and feature 258 units. Facilities at the property will include meeting rooms, two restaurants, a spa, and fitness centre.

Meliá Hotels International vice chairman and CEO Gabriel Escarrer commented: “We are looking forward to working closely with all of our regional partners. The introduction of our two new hotel brands, Innside and ME by Meliá, to the region represents an important milestone within our corporate development.”

Also in the pipeline is the 125-key Innside JLT Dubai, which is due to open in 2016, and ME by Melia, alongside Meliá Dubai.
