Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay hotel is the first of the brand in Africa and joins a hotel in Marrakech and one in Casablanca, adding to Hyatt’s plans to double its number of properties in Africa in the next three years.

The 152-room hotel, set in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and overlooking the Atlantic coast, is the first Hyatt Place hotel outside of the U.S.

Peter Fulton, group president for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Southwest Asia, Hyatt, said: “Bringing a brand into a new market is always exciting, but in particular in Africa where we are planning on doubling the number of our properties on the continent over the next three years, adding four further properties to our existing four hotels.”

Each room in the hotel has a balcony and the hotel has amenities such as an authentic hammam, an ASENFO spa, two outdoor swimming pools and a 24-hour gym.

Activities are the on-site surf camp, tennis club and golf academy at the 18-hole golf course designed by architect Kyle Philips, as well as hang-gliding, hiking and mountain biking.

There are several F&B offerings, including a 24/7 menu, all-day food and drinks at the pools, and the Coffee to Cocktails Bar, which does exactly what it says: serves coffee, tea, beer, wine and cocktails, with a lounge atmosphere.

Hyatt Place hotels all employ Gallery Hosts, available at any moment of the day, who help with guest admin requests such as organising tickets and tours to helping with meeting arrangements or even making coffee.

The hotel offers flexible, high-tech meeting and event space that can cater up to 80 guests.

Recently the brand has added a Hyatt Place in Amsterdam Airport and one Pune/Hinjewadi in Indiam as well as a Heathrow property, which will open later this year.
