City Seasons Hotels has appointed George Demitry as general manager of its recently opened Royal Rose Abu Dhabi.

Egyptian national Demitry joins from City Seasons Muscat where he was general manager for four years.

“I believe that successful hotel management is an inevitable consequence of a systematic balance between efficient customer service, positive return on investment and employee development,” Demitry commented on his appointment

The hotelier returned to the group in 2011, having left in 2009 to join Egyptian operator, Stella Di Mare Hotels & Resorts. During his previous one-year tenure with City Seasons, he oversaw the opening and re-branding of City Seasons Al Hamra Abu Dhabi.

A certified a hotel administrator by The American Hotel & Lodging Association, Demitry brings more than 17 years of experience in hospitality management, including a three-year stint as GM & regional director of operations with Canadian operator, Executive Hotels & Resorts.

At Royal Rose Abu Dhabi, Demitry will oversee the five-star property’s operations, while working on its F&B expansion and positioning in the capital.

The 355-room hotel is the first five-star property managed and owned by City Seasons Hotels, and it is the flagship of the group.

“We are happy to welcome Mr. Demitry back in UAE,” said Sheikh Ahmed Musallam Bin Ham, vice-president of the group.

“He had achieved excellent revenues in Muscat while positioning our brand in the top tier of the hospitality industry; we are confident he will apply his well-honed management skills to drive Royal Rose Abu Dhabi on a most successful path, bringing the group to a new level” he added.

City Seasons has properties in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain and Muscat, Oman.

Earlier this year, City Seasons Hotel Dubai appointed Christian Palacin as its new general manager.
