The St. Regis Doha has appointed Jean-Luc Morcellet as its new executive chef.
Morcellet, of French origins, brings more than 20 years of international experience to his role, having worked in hotel chains in France, UAE, UK, USA and Zimbabwe, and once catered the late South African President, Nelson Mandela.
In his new role, Morcellet will oversee all culinary aspects of the hotel's F&B, which include: Astor Grill, Jazz at Lincoln Centre, Oyster Bay, Sarab Lounge, Al Sultan Brahim, Vine, banquets and external outside catering. Morcellet will also be supporting the chefs at Gordon Ramsay Mediterranean and Opal by Gordon Ramsay.
St. Regis Doha general manager Tareq Derbas said: "We are very pleased that chef Morcellet has joined the St. Regis family. We believe that his refined culinary experience and exquisite gastronomic delights will certainly leave a positive impact on all of our diners. Moreover, the re-opening of our restaurants and venues will be the highlight of our busy season and we are keen on welcoming all of our valued guests."
Prior to this role, Morcellet was executive chef of The Palace Downtown Dubai for more than six years. He joined that role from the Grosvenor House Dubai.
The chef also has expeirence working at The Savoy in London, and The Dorchester Hotel.
