Four Seasons Bahrain introduces Antigravity Yoga

The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay has introduced a unique antigravity yoga program at its spa.

The unique method of approaching the age-old Indian fitness technique has been invented by Christopher Harrison. He will conduct his classes at the hotel’s own man-made island.

AntiGravity Fitness techniques utilise a silk hammock, slightly suspended above the ground. The yoga style demands for the body to be suspend off the ground, with the support of the silk hammock alone.

AntiGravity Aerial Yoga is said to provide emotional benefits as it’s known to relieve stress, spiritually uplifting and provides a new and exciting alternative to exercising.

Christopher Harrison, founder of the yoga style, experimented using trampolines and springs to achieve a fast-paced, pop culture-themed acrobatic act in the theatre and on TV. He eventually invented a new device that perfectly suited his needs - a silk hammock designed to withstand up to 300 kilograms. He aptly named it the Harrison AntiGravity Hammock.

“I am elated to bring my yoga style to the Middle East, whether people travel for business or leisure, or reside in Bahrain, all should try out this form of exercise,” commented Christopher Harrison.
