Kempinski MOE hires two from Jumeirah Group

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has made two new hires for key roles in human resources and food & beverage - both joining from Jumeirah Group.

Amanda Phipps joins Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates as director of human resources.

A qualified fellow with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), Phipps has worked in several large, multi-site organisations delivering resourcing, recruitment, employee relations, occupational health and safety, and policy development solutions to meet organisational needs.

Starting her career with the Northumbria Police in the United Kingdom in 1998, she provided HR services and advice to improve organisational performance in line with business objectives.

In 2007, Phipps joined Gloucestershire Constabulary, representing HR at a board level and delivering an integrated HR platform for over 2500 staff. In 2013, she relocated to Dubai and joined the Jumeirah Group as HR manager, later performing the tasks of HR director for Jumeirah’s Maldives and Azerbaijan resorts.

Phipps graduated from Northumbria University with a Bachelor of Law in 1997, and again in 2002 with a post-graduate diploma in human resource management.

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has alsp appointed Andrea Strim as executive assistant manager in charge of food and beverage.

Beginning his career in 1990 as a management trainee in Italy, Strim started his F&B career as a chef de partie-sous chef at a boutique hotel in 1992. He then spent two decades working his way up through the brigade de cuisine in high-end luxury hotels and resorts in Italy, Japan and the UAE.

Prior to joining Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Strim was with the Jumeirah Group for 10 years and has in-depth experience in managing large teams and high volume operations. He has been recognised by more than 20 industry bodies for his professional accomplishments.

Andreas has diplomas in food and beverage and hotel management, and has completed several courses with The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management in Dubai.
