Atlantis The Palm Dubai SVP – Finance Conor Lawler was awarded the sought-after Purchasing/ Finance Person of the Year title, sponsored by Protect-a-Bed at the Hotelier Middle East Awards 2015
Lawler was recognised for his outstanding achievements over the past 12 months, including his success in increasing EBITDA margins, introducing online procurement technology for e-bidding and online auctions and the implementation of a central reporting and budgeting platform.
"This is fantastic and a privilege. It’s great to be here and to win an award, it was unexpected but very good." said Lawler upon receiving the accolade.

The award was sponsored by Ecolab, and presented by director of marketing MEA Roula Eid.
The judges commented on Lawler's accomplished and distinguished career in the financial and hospitality industries spanning over 25 years.
The nominees for this year’s Purchasing/ Finance Person of the Year included: Jagdish Rasam of Media One Hotel, Joseph Fernandes from Crowne Plaza Doha, Mohammad Iqbal KI from Doubletree by Hilton Dubai, Stelios Damianelis from InterContinental Dubai Festival City, Suresh Babu Mudavakkad from Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, Abu Dhabi.
Speaking of the importance of team work to professional success, Lawler added: "We have 3300 staff, and without all of them behind you you can’t get accomplish anything, you need everyone working together. It's an amazing team and a big operation, they're all fantastic."
The 2015 awards event took place last night (October 28) at InterContinental Dubai Festival City in Dubai and recognised the industry's finest professionals.
