Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has opened the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, marking its entry in the emirate of Sharjah.
The 349-room Sharjah resort further expands the company’s portfolio in the United Arab Emirates to 25 hotels across five emirates.
“The entry of Sheraton in Sharjah marks a milestone for the company and also reinforces the Sheraton brand’s goal to open 150 new hotels by 2020,” said Starwood Hotels & Resorts Middle East senior vice president, regional director Guido de Wilde.
Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa features a selection of restaurants that offer a range of dining experiences. The hotel opens with Al Qubtan, the beachside restaurant, and the Link@Sheraton Café which offers a venue for social or business meetings.
By the end of November, the hotel will open its all-day Italian dining outlet Gusti; Marasea, a seafood market serving catches from the Gulf; and the Al Mahattah Lounge, an enclave offering cigars in an elegant setting for drinks and quiet conversation. In December, the hotel will also introduce Arjwan, an Emirati restaurant with regional specialties in an indoor as well as al fresco setting.
The hotel will also offer what it claims is the largest hotel conference facilities in the city with more than 2,100 square metres of meeting and event space, including two ballrooms and nine meeting rooms, suitable for celebrations and business functions.
Additional features include a range of leisure facilities, such as the Sheraton Fitness by Exos programme, outdoor swimming pools and a private beach.
The Shine Spa for Sheraton will open in December with more than 1,100 square metres of space spread over two floors, featuring 15 treatment rooms and a Turkish Hamman.
The resort is located on Sharjah’s Corniche close to the border of the emirate of Ajman.
