DMYC lures corporates aboard

Dubai Marina and Yacht Club (DMYC) is targeting corporate groups to drive sales on its newest addition - the 43-foot Athena Dubai motor yacht.

DMYC is pitching the yacht as a unique venue for small meetings or an up-market incentive reward for employees.

"Using a yacht for a meeting or incentive is the perfect way to offer guests and employees a unique experience," said Steve Stiglbauer, general manager, DMYC.

"With its large air-conditioned interior space, Athena Dubai is perfectly set up for intimate meetings, presentations and events. It is an ideal venue for closing a deal or rewarding your staff by offering a cruise around Dubai."

The yacht is licensed for up to ten guests, making it suitable for three main types of activity; indoor meetings and catering; evening cocktail and canapé cruises; and all-day cruises, Stiglbaur added.

"This can include anchoring off a beach where guests can go swimming, snorkelling or just relax in the sun using the custom-made lowered bathing platform," he said.

"Entertaining guests on a yacht creates a complete catchment for guest's attention, so in terms of an exclusive product launch, contract signing or upper management rendezvous, you can have all the guests' complete attention."

Athena Dubai itineraries are entirely tailor-made; clients can request for the yacht to be set up with meeting tables in the cabin area, which also boasts a built-in AV system, and choose from a range of catering options for different occasions.

The yacht is fully equipped with CD stereo; internal and external speakers; 240v and 12v power sources; a VHS stereo video; and a DVD stereo video.

The vessel is fully crewed by DMYC staff, so no prior knowledge of yachting is required.

Packages range from AED 2500 (US $681) per hour, to AED 17,000 ($4630) for a full day sailing.

VISA cardholders can purchase a four-hour cruise for the price of three for all bookings made before September 30.
