Offering in-room entertainment technology to the hospitality industry, RoomNetTV has expanded into the Middle East.
Managing over 10,000 rooms globally, with clients ranging from large multi-national hotel chains to smaller luxury boutique hotels, RoomNetTV’s products enable hotels to differentiate themselves by offering guests a "home-away-from-home in-room entertainment experience".
RoomNetTV CEO Darren King said: "Our TV viewing style has changed and the traditional video on demand service in hotels has become obsolete; it’s too expensive for hotels to deliver and for guests to buy."
He continued: "There is an explosion of internet services and we now have access to a plethora of online services. It won’t be long until conventional TV delivery vanishes for good, and hotels need to prepare to deliver three to five times the current available guest bandwidth within the next three years."
Increasingly, guests bring their own devices and content when they travel, but these devices have small screens. RoomNetTV’s technology adds to the guest’s in-room entertainment experience by allowing them to wirelessly stream their content to the hotel TV.
The company’s latest offering, RNTV Cloud, allows hotels to adopt Apple TV in their guest rooms in a secure ‘private network’ and integrated with the HSIA and PMS systems.
Guests can natively stream their content including Apple DRM protected content, mirror their apps for gaming, surf the internet and more, all to their guest room TV without fear of accidental streaming to other guests’ TVs.
“With the many hotel projects planned and under development in the Middle East, we felt this was the right time to establish our presence in Dubai as the hospitality hub for the region. We have seen a growing demand for boutique, client-focused hospitality technology service providers that can help innovate the region’s hotel industry,” King concluded.
