Online travel agency Destinia plans to open an office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by 2016.
Destinia, the international online travel agency with offices in Dubai, Egypt and Spain, will expand its presence in the Middle East by opening an office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by 2016.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a young and rapidly expanding population and currently leads the Middle East economy. As a brand, we would welcome the approach to work with a local partner to support our growth. This expansion would be a great opportunity to firstly support our growing market from Saudi Arabia where a significant number of our international bookings come from, as well as helping achieve our objective of being one of the top three Arabic online travel agencies in the region by 2017,” said Destinia chief international officer Ricardo Fernández.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represents our core market in the MENA region and, this is a natural step within our expansion strategy in the Middle East region following the recent successful launch of our office in Dubai in January 2014 which followed our Cairo office, Fernández continues.
Destinia reported that from January – November, a 48% increase in bookings and an increase of 40% in sales in the MENA region. In regards to the Saudi Arabia market, bookings have grown by 81% and sales have gone up by 57%.
Destinia now has a selection of 300,000 hotels and 600 airlines around the world. The website offers travel servicing and customer care 24 hours a day.
