Marriott International has been recognised by a global study as the best global employer for the second consecutive year.

The 2015 global ‘Aon Best Employers programme’, conducted by Aon Hewitt (the global talent, retirement and health solutions business ) analysed the working environment and culture for employees at companies across the world.

The findings of the study saw Marriott recognised as ‘2015 Global Aon Best Employer’. This is the second consecutive year that Marriott have been recognised with this award by Aon.

Aon Hewitt partner and Aon Best Employers Program leader Neil Crawford commented: “The Aon Best Employers programme recognises the outstanding achievements of organizations that demonstrate excellence in the workplace and consistently deliver strong, sustainable business results.

“We congratulate Marriott International on being the only organization to achieve this distinct honour of global recognition for the second year in a row.”

Marriott International operates 4,300 properties in 85 countries and territories. In this year’s study, Marriott was recognised in 49 out of 65 eligible countries. In the MENA region, Marriott was also represented in eight markets: Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Each company is assessed on four key criteria in each of the countries (out of the 65 eligible) in which the business operates.

These criteria are engagement, leadership, performance culture and employer brand.

In the case of Marriott, the following findings across the company were recognised by Aon:

1. Engagement Index: Marriott’s employees speak positively about their employer, intend to stay and are motivated by their employment experience to do their best work every day.

2. Leadership Index: Marriott’s leaders clearly define the vision for the future, recognize employees’ critical importance and lead them to success.

3. Performance Culture Index: Marriott’s employees are aligned to company goals and are rewarded and recognized for their contributions.

4. Employer Brand Index: Marriott’s employees are proud of the company they work for and know what makes Marriott distinctive as a place to work.

Marriott International president and managing director for the Middle East & Africa Alex Kyriakidis commented on the business’ success:
“Our commitment to 'people' is at the heart of everything we do and these results show that our hotel teams have become true ambassadors to Marriott International.”
