Intercontinental Dubai Festival City has welcomed two new senior members to the kitchen team.

Australian national Paul Barton has been appointed director of kitchens for the hotel. The property also welcomes new executive sous chef Nikolaos Tsimidakis from Greece.

New director of kitchens Paul Barton brings over 23 years of experience to the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City. His previous roles have included posts at The Oberoi, Sofitel and Park Hyatt in Melbourne; The Royal York in Toronto; Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi; and the Intercontinental Expo and Shangri La Pudong, both in Shanghai.

Barton comes to IHG in Dubai directly from his recent position as executive chef at Solaire Resort & Casino in Manilla, Philippines.

New executive sous chef Nikolaos Tsimidakis (pictured below) brings nearly 20 years of experience to the hotel. Tsimidakis has worked previously for Princess Cruises, a Michelin-awarded restaurant in Athens, as well as the Saudi royal family at HM King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Palace in KSA.

Until recently, Tsimidakis worked at Nola Eatery & Social House in JLT, Dubai.
