IHG's Yas Island properties appoint new cluster GM

Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island and Staybridge Suites Yas Island have appointed a new general manager, to oversee both properties.

New cluster general manager Rami Serhal has been promoted internally from the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island. Here, Serhal occupied the position as hotel manager for the past four years. 

During this time, Serhal was involved in the Abu Dhabi property's successful “Ten Club” win for two consecutive years.

Serhal brings over 15 years of experience to this role, all with IHG properties. He began his hospitality career in Beirut, where he joined the Lebanese capital’s flagship IHG property the Intercontinental Phoenicia, working at the hotel for eight years. 

Serhal later moved to the Intercontinental Abu Dhabi as front office manager, before taking a role at the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island.

Asked about his recent promotion, Serhal commented: “I am very excited about my new role as general manager for our properties at Yas Island. I have witnessed these properties grow over the past four years. It’s great to be working with a winning team like the one at Yas Island and together we will drive to achieve excellence.”

Serhal's new role as cluster general manager will be effective from January 1 2016.
