Elaf and Egyptian Tourism Minister to explore potential tourism opportunities to reinforce sector.
The Elaf Group, a SEDCO Holding Group company has hosted a meeting with His Excellency Hisham Zazou, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism at the Elaf Jeddah Hotel, Red Sea Mall to discuss ways on how to reinforce tourism for both Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Minister Zazou was welcomed by Elaf senior officials including Mohammad Bin Mahfouz VP Travel & Tourism, Abdullah Bakri VP Hotels and Jawaid Abdul Hameed VP Marketing.
The Elaf team was headed by Chief Operating Officer (COO) Asim Abdullah Danish, and both parties talked on how to increase two-way tourism for Elaf customers in Egypt and KSA.
Elaf Group COO Asim Danish said: “We are pleased to have hosted this special meeting with Egyptian Tourism Minister, His Excellency Hisham Zazou and his delegation. We are confident that today’s meeting will later result in stronger ties between Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, especially in the move to promote Egypt as a key tourist destination and to position Elaf Hotels as a highly preferred venue for stay by visiting tourists. We look forward to working closely with Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and help in developing their tourism industry.”
The Egyptian delegation encouraged the Elaf Group to promote Sharm El Sheikh to its customers visiting the country.
The developments come following sustained efforts to increase GCC arrivals into the resort, including talks between a Saudi businessman and Egyptian authorities over a US$4 billion tourism resort in Sharm el-Sheikh.
The two parties also expressed intentions to explore possible investment and partnership opportunities that would be beneficial to both Egypt and KSA.
