Horeca Trade partners with Dubai chef for contest

Horeca Trade has hosted its seventh cooking competition at ICCA training centre, led byThe Maine Oyster Bar & Grill's head chef, Liam Breen. 

The contest, held on a quarterly basis, aims to continually challenge the company's employees to try new recipes using food products from Horeca's portfolio.

In a statement, UAE-based supplier Horeca said the main objectives of the competition is to raise standards of excellence; create new styles of service and presentation; and experiment with its own products to develop individual's skills in cooking.

Under Breen's supervision and coaching, three teams competed aginst each other to recreate the recipe of flank steak and steak tartare after Breen demonstrated the methods. 

A judging panel named a team comprising Svetlana Malakhova, Charizma Osite, Sowmya Rajan, Ahmad Almasri and Jad Asaad as the winning team, based on the method of cooking, taste and presentation.
