Scottish pub to open in DoubleTree by Hilton JBR

A traditional Scottish restaurant and bar is due to open in DoubleTree by Hilton JBR this month and will be an exact replica of its namesake in the UK.

The owners of Copper Dog, which operates within the 120-year-old Craigellachie Hotel in Scotland, are replicating almost every detail for the Dubai outpost - including using the same artwork and whiskey glasses.

Speaking to Caterer Middle East last summer, Hilton Worldwide vice president food and beverage, Europe, Middle East and Africa Simon Lazarus revealed: "It's going to be an upscale pub, very much going after the 30-40 something market. It's a very elegant gentleman's club."

Portsoy smoked salmon and Aberdeen Angus beef will feature on the menu, and similarly, for the beverage menu, whiskey will be imported from Scotland.

Staff from the hotel will be in Dubai to oversee the launch, with at least one remaining working at Copper Dog in Dubai for up to a year, reports Scottish newspaper The Press and Journal.

"We want to bring Dubai the best that Scotland and especially Speyside [an area of Scotland] has to offer," Craigellachie Hotel manager Kevin Smith told the newspaper.
