A Turkish hotel guest was found dead early last week at the Hilton Doha hotel. The body was discovered on Sunday March 13, according to a report by Doha News.

Police arrived at the hotel, located in Doha’s West Bay district at approximately 5pm on March 13, and were followed by several medics an hour later. The police remained at the hotel until approximately 9pm that evening.

According to guests staying at the hotel, there was subsequently a “bad smell” in the corridor on the 20th floor of the hotel, where the body of the Turkish national was found.

A spokesperson from the Turkish Embassy in Doha told Doha News that the death of the Turkish hotel guest was due to “natural causes”.

In a statement by Hilton Worldwide, a spokesperson for the hotel group said: “It is with deep regret that we can confirm that a guest has died at Hilton Doha, on 13 March 2016.

Hotel management immediately informed the local authorities and any further inquiries should be made directly to the Doha Police. We offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends at this difficult time.”
