Raffles Dubai appoints new executive chef

Raffles Dubai has appointed Greek national Doxis Bekris as the new executive chef of the property.

Bekris brings over 20 years of experience to the role. He originally joined FRHI in 2010, taking on the role of corporate food & beverage/culinary director for Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, overseeing the brand’s worldwide F&B operations.

Bekris holds a bachelor degree in Hospitality and Licensed Retail Management from the University of Wolverhampton in United Kingdom. He is also the co-author of several cookbooks, including Famously Mediterranean.

Commenting on the appointment, Raffles Dubai GM Ayman Gharib said: “We are delighted to welcome Doxis to Raffles Dubai. With several years of culinary expertise, Doxis is a proven industry leader and I am confident he will guide Raffles Dubai to new heights of success.”

Within Dubai, Bekris has worked with properties such as The Address Dubai Mall and Kempinski Mall of the Emirates.

Bekris joins Raffles Dubai directly from his last role within FRHI, as the group executive chef for FRHI properties in Kenya: Fairmont Mara Safari Club, Fairmont Mount Kenya and Fairmont The Norfolk.

Regarding his new role at Raffles Dubai, Bekris commented: “I’m thrilled to join Raffles Dubai and to be representing a brand I feel passionate about. This is a very exciting time for the property as it continues to gain ground both locally and internationally.”
