The holding company for Dubai Parks and Resorts is considering a name change to dXb Entertainments PJSC.

The proposal was approved at a board of directors’ meeting, held on June 15, and now shareholders have been invited to attend the firm's general assembly meeting on June 23 in Dubai to help make a decision, reports Gulf News.

If the shareholders opt for the name change, dXb Entertainments PJSC will be the name for the corporate entity, while Dubai Parks and Resorts will continue to be the customer-facing identity for the theme park, which features Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Dubai, and Legoland Water Park.

The new attraction is due to open in October 2016.

A company spokesperson said: “The name change would distinguish between the company that operates the theme park destination, and the destination itself, which will remain as Dubai Parks and Resorts.”
