Heart-shaped honeymooners island planned for Dubai

Kleindienst has announced its plan to turn St Petersburg Island into the Middle East’s number one honeymoon destination.

The heart-shaped island will become the first resort in the UAE dedicated to newlyweds, according to the developer of Dubai’s The Heart of Europe.

As part of Nakheel’s The World master development, St Petersberg Island is situated 6km off the Dubai coast, 20 minutes away from the mainland.

Kleindienst stated that the resort draws inspiration from some of the world’s most sought-after honeymoon hotspots, including the Maldives, Bora Bora, and the Caribbean.

The Heart of Europe chairman Josef Kleindienst said in comments published by Construction Week Online: “St Petersburg Island will be a dream destination for couples and newlyweds. The five-star resort will offer privacy, tranquillity, and first-class hospitality to ensure a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“The honeymoon business is a multibillion-dollar industry, and we are excited by the prospect of newly married couples choosing to spend the most special holiday of their lives at St Petersburg Island very soon.”

The development will be surrounded by 90 Floating Seahorse villas, which will be connected to the island by floating jetties.

Guests staying at St Petersburg Island will have access to The Heart of Europe’s Main Europe Island and Switzerland Island.

St Petersburg Island will have an infinity pool, shallow lagoons, tropical gardens, and a pool bar and restaurant.

Kleindienst is also developing The Honeymoon Hotel on Main Europe Island, which it is billing as an alternative choice for newlyweds.

The hotel is scheduled to open at the end of 2018, reports sister publication Arabian Business.
