W Doha Hotel & Residences has reopened its poolside lounge WAHM after nearly three months of renovation.
The hotel’s pool area, known as the “Wet Deck” is still closed for refurbishment, and currently expected to reopen on August 1.
The poolside lounge closed in May for refurbishment, and in a recent statement, the hotel described the renovation of WAHM, as a “transformation from a bar into a sophisticated lounge”.
Commenting on the reopening, Starwood Hotels & Resort area manager Qatar and Oman, and W Doha GM Safak Guvenc said: “While the physical features and offerings may be reinvigorated, we can guarantee that you will come back to the same quality of service, still energetic, limitless, always spontaneous and outstanding. We invite you to discover WAHM and make it once again your favorite lounge in Doha.”
United Design Partnership (UDP) were employed to conduct the revamp, having also recently completed a revamp of Market by Jean-Georges in the same hotel. Commenting on the refurbishment of WAHM, UDP Design director Danielle Duggleby said: “We wanted to refresh the WAHM concept with new designs using interesting materials contrasting each other in texture and colour. The result has created a refined lounge while staying true to the W brand.”
Design details at the newly reopened lounge include mosaics, green panelling with gold detailing, velvet upholstered seating and a “textured wall”.
Other aspects of the concept include a dual menu of “retox” and “detox” options on the menu, ranging from cocktails, to raw juices. The lounge will also host regular DJ sets from resident and international artists.
