Starwood hotels Le Meridien Mina Seyahi and The Westin Dubai, have extended an offer of support to displaced residents of the Sulafa Tower affected by the fire.

The fire broke out at approximately 3pm on July 20 at the Sulafa Tower.

The fire is believed to have started in a penthouse apartment on the 35th floor of the 75 storey apartment building, and spread across one side of the tower.

Residents of the Sulafa Tower have been evacuated from the property. According to reports, firefighters and ambulances raced to the scene, but no casualties had been reported at the time of writing.

The two Starwood hotels, located minutes away from the fire scene, in Dubai Marina, have opened up The Westin ballroom, for those in need of temporary shelter and refreshments.
