Jean-Gabriel Pérès is due to join Kerzner International Holdings as the group’s new president and chief executive officer.

Pérès is currently the outgoing CEO of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts. His departure from the group was announced in February 2016, following 17 years with Movenpick.

From September 2016, Pérès will be replaced at the Swiss hospitality group by Olivier Chavy. However, Pérès’ start date with Kerzner has not yet been confirmed.

Originally from France, Pérès has accrued over 30 years of hospitality industry experience, 17 of which were with the Movenpick group, and prior to this, eleven years working with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts.

Pérès now serves as a member of the World Travel and Tourism Council. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Commenting on the selection of Pérès, Kerzner International chairman and Investment Corporation of Dubai CEO and executive director His Excellency Mohammed Al Shaibani said: “Jean-Gabriel joins us at a very opportune moment in our journey as we embark on an accelerated growth and expansion plan to take Kerzner to new places around the world, from China to Mexico and beyond.

"Throughout his career, Jean-Gabriel has carved his expertise in building exemplary corporate cultures, achieving customer satisfaction, and driving superior returns for the companies he worked at. I look forward to seeing Kerzner International Holdings prosper and grow its global footprint under his stewardship.”
