Five Movenpick properties in Jordan have introduced Oracle Hospitality Opera Cloud Services, making Movenpick the first hotel brand to implement the new technology across an entire hotel cluster.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts have stated that the new software allows the group to streamline and centralise sales, marketing, reservations, revenue management, business intelligence and accounting functions across the cluster.

Commenting on the implementation of Opera Cloud, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Jordan, regional director Michael Nugent said: “In our estimation, Opera Cloud will become the industry’s standard software for years to come… Access to one guest profile allows us to anticipate the needs of our guests, no matter at which Mövenpick hotel they check in to.”

“Mövenpick is the first hotel chain globally to embrace a complete transition to the cloud for its hotel operations platform,” commented Oracle Hospitality senior vice president for hotels Bernard Jammet. He added: “We are delighted to see Mövenpick leverage the centralized guest profile in Opera Cloud to enhance guest recognition across its properties. With Opera Cloud, Mövenpick is reducing IT cost and complexity, while accelerating global expansion, elevating guest experiences and improving operational efficiencies.”

The software was originally tested as a piloted at the Mövenpick Hotel Egerkingen in Switzerland, and subsequently rolled out to all five Movenpick hotels in Jordan, located in Petra, Aqaba, Tala Bay and the Dead Sea.

The hotel group plans to implement the new software at all Movenpick properties by 2018. The group has also stated that new hotels and resorts will launch with the new software in place.
