SIAL Middle East is set to return in 2016, giving hoteliers an opportunity to source new F&B products to help them align with changing objectives and achieve cost efficiency.

Speaking to Hotelier Middle East, SIAL Middle East managing director Joanne Cook said: "As the UAE continues to add hotel rooms to its existing inventory, it will reflect on the occupancy rates and revenue margins for various properties. With increasing competition, hotel GMs will need to create a differentiation factor for their properties to stay relevant.

"One great way of doing this is by reinvigorating the food offering and SIAL Middle East can help achieve just that."

Cook reported this year's edition is expected to attract more than 1,000 exhibitors and 30+ national country pavilions.

The annual trade show, which will take place on December 5-7 2016, is sponsoring the Hotelier Middle East: Great GM Debate 2016, and Cook said she "considers Hotelier Middle East Great GM Debate an ideal platform to reach out to top hotel industry executives".

Continuing to talk about the current market, she noted: "The current boom in the hotel industry is the most exciting part as more than 10,000 rooms will be added in Dubai alone in 2016. It is certainly great for the end users as they will have more choice and also perhaps will lead towards more affordable options.

"With the current worldwide outlook, it will be interesting to hear various strategies from hotels to stay profitable and continue innovating."

The Hotelier Middle East: Great GM Debate will take place on September 27, 2016 at the Conrad Dubai.
