Despite a delay in the expected opening date, Dubai’s latest tourist attraction, IMG Worlds of Adventure, has now officially opened its doors today, on August 31.

The project, which claims to be the world’s largest indoor theme park, spans 1.5 million ft(which IMG equate to 28 football fields).

The attraction is owned by the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group, and managed by IMG Worlds. The new venture will employ over 1,600 employees, according to a company statement.

The theme park is split into four zones, which are themed around Marvel, Cartoon Network, IMG Boulevard and Lost Valley - Dinosaur Adventure.

The park features 20 rides and activities, including a “haunted hotel” attraction (pictured), live shows and a 5D cinema. It also features a total of 28 F&B outlets and 25 retail outlets.

Commenting on the opening, IMG Worlds of Adventure CEO Lennard Otto said: “We are excited to have launched the world’s largest indoor theme park today, which will be a major tourism attraction for Dubai, the surrounding regions and the rest of the world.

"As the first international theme park to open in Dubai, we expect to host over 4.5 million people in our first year of operation, transforming the entertainment and leisure industry forever. We look forward to welcoming everyone in the coming days, weeks and months.”
