The upcoming 506-key Dukes Dubai hotel on the Palm Jumeirah has appointed its director of F&B: British national Carl Chapman.

Dukes Dubai, which will offer 279-rooms and 227-apartments, is expected to also offer six F&B outlets. The property is reportedly on track to open in Q4 2016.

Chapman joins Dukes Dubai directly from InterContinental London – The O2, Greenwich, where he held the position of director of F&B since May 2015.

Chapman, who has more than twenty years of experience in hospitality, has previously worked at iconic London venues such as The Savoy, Claridge’s and Simpsons in the Strand. Moving outside of London, in 2013, Chapman joined Fairmont Château Lake Louise in Canada, as assistant director of F&B.

Commenting on Chapman’s appointment, Seven Tides CEO Abdulla bin Sulayem said: “Carl’s knowledge of the UK culinary scene and years of hands-on operational expertise will add immense value to the Dukes Dubai food and beverage offering, and we are confident that, along with his executive team colleagues, he will be instrumental in positioning our unique portfolio as a one-of-a-kind dining destination for Dubai.”
