Qatar sees GCC visitor increase in August

The total number of visitor arrivals in Qatar for the month of August increased by 2% compared to August 2015 according to a Qatar Tourism Authority report.

GCC nationals visiting Qatar have continued to increase in the month August, posting a year-to-date arrival growth of 7% compared to the same period in 2015, reports TradeArabia.

Research indicated that visitor arrivals from the GCC were dominated by guests from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which increased by 9% and 11% respectively, compared to 2015.

Visitors from Bahrain were up by 2%; but visitors from Oman and Kuwait were down by 6% and 1% respectively.

Meanwhile, American tourists increased by 6% between January and August 2016 compared to the same period in 2015.
