Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai has gone through a US $19 million (AED 70 million) renovation across its 302 guest rooms and public areas – including the hotel’s atrium-style lobby and lobby lounge and Dunes Café.

The lobby, Lobby Lounge and Dunes Café (public areas) are set to be completed by October this year, and the remodelling was spearheaded by international interior designers, Hirsch Bedner Associates.

The renovation of the guest rooms is being implemented in a phased approach until April 2018, and its design will combine Asian-influenced wooden fixtures and fittings with white, blush and pastel blue soft furnishings.

Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel and each guest room will be equipped with advanced Bluetooth technology. Guests can synchronise their mobile devices with the media hub panel to play music, charge devices and view photos on the flat-screen in-room TV.

The hotel's lobby and lobby lounge will have clean lines, contemporary art and neutral tones, along with gold and ruby red detailing and glass and gold chandeliers.

Dunes Café is an international dining restaurant, and its new look will include bronze patterned walls inspired by marine-life from the Arabian Sea, mixed with yellow and blue. The restaurant benefits from natural sunlight during the day, with adaptable mood lighting at night.
