Aliaxis

Marketing executive Jane Jacobsen shares more about the new hospitality brochure launched by the company

What is your new product for this year?

Since our product portfolio is quite diverse, we wanted to create more dedicated marketing materials to introduce the Aliaxis product portfolio as an overall ‘behind the wall’ solution. We, hence, carried out dedicated market research in the growing sectors of the Middle East and subsequently launched our first sector-specific hospitality brochure. The brochure includes not only the entire Aliaxis range, but further outlines products of interest for hoteliers, such as self-illuminated flush plates in bathrooms and noise-reducing drainage systems.

Can you share more about this brochure?

The hospitality brochure has not been developed to simply sell our product range but to create awareness in the industry of the issues that sometimes seem hidden while a hotel is already in full operation. These include water leakage or noise complaints that could have been avoided if key issues had been considered during the design stage of a hotel. Aliaxis has dedicated significant R&D resource to benefit the hospitality sector. In the plumbing and sanitary industry many suppliers claim to follow similar European standards but it is our knowledgeable and dedicated staff that make the difference.

Why is this product so important for the hospitality industry, and why should they buy this product from you?

Hotels around the globe are dealing with environmental and reliability issues which, if poor choices are made, it can impact on ROI. Not being able to rent rooms due to water leakage badly affects the financial performance of a hotel. By making our partners aware of these issues enables them to choose the correct products and suppliers.

When was your company established, and how long has it been in the Middle East?

Aliaxis was created in 2003 as a result of a demerger of Etex Group’s plastics activities. Nevertheless, most of the companies within the Aliaxis Group have been present in their local European markets for more than 60 or 70 years.

Durable and decorative, Ucrete products can extend the infrastructure lifecycle in highly demanding environments and can efficiently resist bacteria, organic acids and noxious chemicals — thereby enhancing workplace safety and hygiene. Ucrete is known across the market as the ‘world’s toughest floor’. Its convenient installation minimises business downtime, as the floor can be put back in service as soon as six to eight hours (maintained at 20°C) after application.

Why should hoteliers install your product?

The hospitality industry is fast-paced and highly demanding. Its workplaces are occupied by hundreds of staff and employees at any given hour of the day. Organic cotton fabric, which is biologically grown with low impact on environment, is another alternative offered by us to provide a safe and healthy sleeping experience. Outdoor Furnishing

Sun & Shades

Clients are requesting outdoor furnishing to resemble indoor furnishing; Roland Corko, sales director of Sun and Shades LLC, gives us the details

What is new in 2016 from your company?

The latest trend is the use of stamskin materials, which is artificial leather of the highest quality, durable for all weather conditions, and can even sustain Dubai’s harsh weather. We are using this excellent material as a fabric for completely upholstered outdoor furniture. Not only is this furniture durable, it also looks good.

What makes your products different from other products on the market, and can you share any recent product launches?

We are always trying to keep on track with new design trends. That’s why we make new designs every year, with new materials and technology. We have also recently launched a new collection — ‘haute couture 2016’. Interior designers are at the focal point of our business and we are always trying to assist them if they need anything in particular. We try and arrange all shop drawings, technical descriptions, 3D models; we even provide them with samples if they or the client insist on having them. This is what sets us apart from other players in the market.

What are some of your recent projects in the Middle East and what are the major challenges you face while executing projects?

Outdoor designs have dramatically changed. Designs become more like indoor, and materials which they use completely resemble the indoor ones, while at the same time keeping the resistance of the outdoor weather influences. These changes have gone so far that majority of designs are suitable either for indoor or outdoor use. The latest projects we delivered are Anantara Jabal Al Akhdar in Oman, Emaar BLVD Dubai, Westin Hotel in Doha, refurbishment of The Ritz-Carlton in JBR and the Al Fanar hotel in Oman. Although our delivery period is the shortest in the market, not more than 10 weeks from the confirmation of the shop drawings, we sometimes undercut this time, delivering projects sooner than promised by us.
