Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest mango sticky rice dish, weighing in at 2,831 kgs.

On October 21, 2016, 10 chefs at the hotel collaborated to create the traditional Thai dessert, which used 1,000 kgs of rice, 500 litres of coconut milk, 500 litres of coconut cream, 50 kgs of sugar, 300 kgs of mango and three litres of oil - all of which was sourced from local suppliers.

‘’I am very pleased and proud of Anantara the Palm Dubai Resort team. I would like to dedicate this record the whole team, whose constant hard work and dedication have made this possible.

"We believe in this motto: Together We Can, and we are working towards more achievements and success,” commented Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort general manager Jean-Francois Laurent.

Once the new record was confirmed, guests and attendees were able to taste it before the dish was taken to be eaten by men in Shapoorji Pallonji Mideast and Transguard labour camps, serving more than 2,500 labourers.

More than 130 world records have been won in Dubai, with the most recent being the Huddle Sports Bar & Grill's Guinness World Record for the longest domino drop shot last month.
