The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM), celebrated its 15 year anniversary and the 12th graduation ceremony at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in November.
The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, chairman of Dubai Holding, Minister of Cabinet Affairs & The Future of the Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates; Ahmad Bin Byat, vice-chairman and managing director of Dubai Holding; Fadel Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Holding and Gerald Lawless, head of tourism and hospitality at Dubai Holding.
HE Al Gergawi commented in a statement: "It was a moment of great pride for Dubai Holding when Jumeirah Group set up The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, one of the first of its kind in the region, 15 years ago.
"Since then, the Academy has been attracting some of the brightest talent from the UAE and the world, building a cadre of competent and dynamic professionals for the hotel and tourism industry. In addition to furthering the UAE’s growing tourism industry, the Academy provides students with the opportunity to pursue a formal, internationally accredited education in this niche field right here at home."
The mission of Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, established in October 2001, is to prepare and develop future leaders for the hospitality, travel and tourism industry. EAHM is the only domestic, home-grown hospitality institution offering university qualifications with the UAE and international accreditations.
There are now more than 600 graduates working across the globe in the hospitality sector and beyond. The original class of 2005 now work all over the world for companies including Jumeirah Group, Ernst & Young, the Fairmont, Louvre Hotel Group; HSBC bank and Warner Bros World.

The event took place on November 20, and 79 students from 41 countries received their degrees. Of those graduates, one completed the ABA – Associate of Business Administration in International Hospitality Management; eight students graduated with an ASc – Associate of Science in International Hospitality Management; 51 completed a Bsc Hons – Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management and 19 graduated with a MBA – Masters of Business Administration.
