Hotels in Abu Dhabi have reported a 10.6% drop in average room rates in November to reach US $179.71 (AED 660), according to Gulf News citing research from STR.
The latest figures from STR show a 3.2% decline in occupancy rates in November to reach 81%.
Furthermore, the decline in room rates is reported to have led in a 13.5% decrease in revenue per available room to US $145.40 (AED 534).
November is traditionally a strong month for Abu Dhabi’s hotels, however a 3.5% year-to-date jump supply growth has negatively impacted 2016 when compared to last year.
Domestic demand is also reported to be suffering as a result to lower consumer spending due in part to a more challenging economic environment.
