The Curve Hotel - an Ezdan Holding Group hotel located in Doha's West Bay area - has opened following the "first stage" of development.
Ezdan Holding Group chairman Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani attended the opening ceremony, along with Qatari businessman and Ezdan’s strategic partner in the hotel ownership, Ibrahim al-Mohannadi along with senior Ezdan Holding Group executives - the Gulf Time was reported stating.
The Ezdan group said in a statement: “The hotel is considered a unique addition to the hospitality sector that is regarded among the most important drivers of the national economy. From this point, the group has always been keen to use a significant amount of its potential to give an important boost to this sector.”
The Curve Hotel is owned by White Square Real Estate Company, in which the Ezdan Holding Group holds a 32.5% stake.
The soft launch marked the opening of six floors of the hotel with a capacity of 150 apartments of varying layouts.
However, on completion the hotel would consist of some 24 floors, totalling 600 apartments, occupying 6,788m2 and overlooking the West Bay area.
Ezdan said it expects to complete the hotel’s “full opening” shortly, Gulf Time reported.
In Q1 2016, Ezdan had announced its intention to launch two projects in Qatar’s hospitality and tourism sector - The Curve Hotel and the five-star hotel Ezdan Palace, which is to be built on an area of 46,000m2.
