Dubai’s ‘7-star’ Burj Al Arab used the occasion of its general manager’s festive cocktail party to achieve a new world record.
In partnership with AmStur Caviar, and in the presence of a Guinness World Records official adjudicator as well as hotel guests and VIPs, the hotel unveiled a 17.86kg (net weight) tin of Empress organic caviar.

The tin, named “The Mashenomak” in honour of the “great white sturgeon” of Native American legend, was custom-made by AmStur for the occasion.
As part of the Guinness World Records guidelines, the entire contents of the caviar tin had to be completely consumed. So after the successful weigh-in, confirmed by official adjudicator Hoda Khachab, guests had the opportunity to partake in the world’s largest serving of caviar using custom-engraved mother-of-pearl spoons, produced to commemorate the occasion.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with AmStur Caviar and delighted to share this incredible record breaking experience with our most valuable and loyal guests,” commented Doris Grief, senior vice president operations – MEASA Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts. “At Burj Al Arab, we pride ourselves on extending to our guests unique and memorable experiences and we welcomed this opportunity to introduce them to AmStur – the world’s finest caviar, which also I am pleased to add is environmentally friendly and sustainable, very much in line with Jumeirah Group’s philosophy.”
AmStur Caviar partner Nicholas Narsavidze added: “We were very proud to partner with the prestigious Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in this unique undertaking, and extremely excited to introduce our world-class caviar to the guests.”
