David Thompson, January 3rd, 2017

SalamAir flights between Salalah and Muscat and flights from Muscat to Dubai are now taking bookings at promotional rates, according to local media.

SalamAir will launch its service to Salalah on January 30, and to Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport on February 15, 2017.

“The eagerly anticipated launch of SalamAir ticket sales is a significant occasion for the airline and for the people of Oman. Our competitive price structure makes it possible for tourism, leisure and business passengers alike to take journeys more frequently, giving them the chance to experience more,” said SalamAir chairman Khalid Al Yahmadi. “As

SalamAir opens the skies, it is proud to contribute to Oman’s future progress and prosperity by meeting the rapidly increasing demand for air traffic, supporting our tourism and hospitality sectors, and generating a range of opportunities for employment and business.”

CEO SalamAir François Bouteiller said: “We are delighted to reach another significant milestone in the launch of our new airline. Travellers in Oman and Dubai can now book their flights with SalamAir and benefit from the choices we offer. We see ticket purchase as the beginning of our customers’ journey with us, a journey that although low on cost, meets the very highest international standards in safety, security and customer service.”

SalamAir has introduced three fare options: Light, the airline’s lowest fare designed for customers who only require hand baggage, Friendly, which includes 20kg of checked luggage plus 7kg of hand baggage, and Flexi, offering the same as Friendly, along with priority check-in and the possibility to change flights at no extra cost.

The airline has a fleet of three Airbus A320s and will be based in Muscat, with a secondary hub at Salalah airport, said an Oman Daily Observer report.

Scheduled services will begin with four daily flights to Salalah and two to Dubai's Al Maktourm International Airport at DWC, reports TradeArabia.
