The Consul General of Russia in Hurghada Jamshed Boltaev has expressed optimism as all tourism facilities are ready to receive a gradual return of Russians, according to local media.
Boltaev added the decision for the return of Russian tourists to Egypt may only be handled by President Vladimir Putin, reports the Egypt Independent.
Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov spoke last month stating that flights between Russia and Egypt will most likely resume in January 2017.

This latest update follows recent news that aviation experts from Russia are reported to be planning further safety and security inspections of Egyptian airports in the New Year.
Russia halted all flights with Egypt after the 2015 incident, and has since set out conditions for Egypt-bound flights to run again.
