Sarakshi Rai, February 9th, 2017

Marriott International is planning to introduce communal apartments at its Element properties across the world.

The hotel group acquired Element, its affordable and eco-conscious brand, after its merger with Starwood last year.

According to reports by The Telegraph, communal apartments will be available on each floor of the hotel. Each will have three to four bedrooms with a central common area, including a lounge and full kitchen. They will sleep from six to 16 guests.

Element is an environmentally conscious and sustainable hotel brand. The new Dubai hotel will offer 330 rooms, split between studio and one-bedroom suites. The hotel will be aimed at both business and leisure travellers, Starwood said in a statement.

Starwood is soon to bring the Aloft and Element brands to Dubai for the first time, with two new hotels being developed by Wasl Hospitality & Leisure LLC, a subsidiary of Wasl Asset Management Group.

Scheduled for completion in 2018, the addition of Aloft Dubai Raffa and Element Dubai Raffa to its portfolio will mean that all nine of Starwood’s brands will be present in Dubai. With 15 hotels already open and now six in the pipeline, the emirate is he operator’s second largest market after New York.
