Keita Catering has opened its flagship state-of-the-art kitchen spanning over 24,000 ft2 in Dubai and with a capacity to cater to over 35,000 people.
The new facility is located in Dubai Investment Park 2 and has one of the largest kitchens in the UAE.
It has set up at an investment of around US$ 4.08 million (AED 15 million).
Keita currently provides nearly 30,000 meals to schools, hospitals, corporate clients and community programmes.
Along with offerings its solutions to small-scale private catering and five-star dining for events.
The new facility was inaugurated by Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, founder and managing director of VPS Healthcare.
He said: “I believe Keita can contribute towards a healthier lifestyle for the community in the UAE, especially for kids. The high prevalence of obesity in school children necessitates regular screening and monitoring for hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes, especially since these disorders are exceptionally common.”
Almost 33% of UAE children in the age group of 5 to 17 are overweight and obese.

Director of operations Renhil Krishnan said: “We have an in-house dietician, which continuously monitors the quality of food and ensures that the meals produced are healthy.”
