Maison Routin's saffron syrup premieres at Gulfood

1883 Maison Routin, the producer of natural gourmet syrups imported from the French Apls to flavour coffee based drinks, cocktails, mocktails, sodas and granitas, did the global launch of its new saffron syrup flavour at Gulfood 2017.

"Maison Routin is the first company in the marketplace to utilise saffron as a syrup application," La Marquise International marketing manager Olga Mirtova, whose company serves as Maison Routin's distributor, declared. "The company carries over 100 flavours and saffron is regarded by the company as a priority flavour for the MIddle East market."

Like all Routin products, the new saffron syrup follows tjhe company's philosophy of using all natural ingredients such as natural saffron and water sourced from the French Alps. 

Mirtova disclosed that the saffron syrup was first introduced on a small scale at the Speciality Food Fair in November 2016 specifically to target its GCC community of clients.

"We've had very enthusiastic feedback from the GCC market, " Mirtova said. "We;ve discovered that saffron works very well when combined with fruit flavours such as apple and pineapple, as well as milk. Our UAE-based mixologist can work with our clients in the region to create saffron-infused cocktail and mocktail receipes, which should be very well received."
