Rotana has promoted Sam El Asmar to corporate vice president – revenue and distribution.

Al Asmar was previously the corporate director of revenue, and joined Rotana in 2012 bringing with him 14 years of experience in hotel revenue management and distribution.

In his new role, El Asmar will be responsible for defining and setting the revenue strategy for all new Rotana openings in 2017 and beyond as well as overseeing the rollout of the company’s IDeas G3 revenue management system across its global network of properties.

He will also assume responsibility for enhancing Rotana’s revenue platform with automated tools and comprehensive business analysis, as well as enlarging the company’s distribution network to include new partners and markets.

Rotana COO Guy Hutchinson said: “Sam has been instrumental in putting together a dedicated revenue team for Rotana and his leadership and strategic insights have helped greatly improve our ability to forecast demand accurately and institute optimal pricing and inventory controls, enabling the company to achieve consistent top-line growth and increased market share.

“His promotion to corporate vice president – revenue and distribution will allow El Asmar to play an influential role in improving the company’s core revenue processes and maximising long-term revenue and profitability,” Hutchinson said.

Prior to joining Rotana five years ago, El Asmar worked with Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Concorde Hotels & Resorts.

He holds an MBA in Hospitality Management IMHI from ESSEC Business School, Paris.
