Tashas launches in Abu Dhabi's Al Bateen

Claudia De Brito, March 8th, 2017

Tashas founder, managing executive and creative director Natasha Sideris, has announced the opening of a new location in the UAE capital.

Each of the 14 locations; 13 in South Africa and one in Dubai, has a different “inspiration” which influences the design of the store as well as the “Inspired By” Menu. There is also the tashas “Classic” menu offered at every location that offers the signature dishes that tashas is known for including the texas salad, the parmesan couscous chicken and savva’s chicken pasta.

The design of the 183-seat, 266 square-foot Abu Dhabi store and the menu for tashas Al Bateen is inspired by the Mediterranean – an area of the world where Natasha has spent much time. Casual seating integrates with natural textures and palettes, showcasing a commitment to green practices amongst styled interiors and ambient lighting throughout. The carefully curated menu features new recipes exclusive to the Abu Dhabi cbranch with tapas to share such as Manchego cheese with caramelized almonds and quince, spinach and feta hummus and mains including seafood paella and beef fillet with patatas bravas.

Natasha, who considers the UAE her second home, has her eye on expanding further into the region, with the newly launched Flamingo Room by tashas, a privé dining concept, later this year.

Known for her anti-franchise approach to franchising Sideris said: “The Middle East is full of amazing opportunities and we look forward to finding perfect locations for new tashas. As is our way, no two locations will be the same, offering our customers a different but distinctive experience in each.”
