Cleaning and detergent manufacturer Arpal Gulf LLC has confirmed a partnership with chemical company Sanosil Middle East in a bid to improve fresh food hygiene standards in the UAE. The agreement will have Arpal Gulf using a Sanosil patented formula  for a catering disinfectant range used primarily for fruit and vegetable disinfection.

“Our extensive experience in the Middle East, spanning two decades, has provided us with this exciting opportunity with Sanosil to consolidate our position as a market leader in fruit and vegetable disinfection.Sanosil and Arpal Gulf can now provide an integrated system to help mitigate water and chlorine consumption in fruit and vegetable disinfection, whilst trying to optimise environmental impacts, food quality and food safety,” declared Arpal Gulf managing director John Gavigan.

He added: “We are constantly looking for innovative products to reinforce our core message within the food and beverage industry here in the UAE of ‘clean people, serving clean food in a clean environment’. We are absolutely delighted that Sanosil Middle East has agreed to appoint Arpal Gulf as their regional partner.”

Arpal Gulf intends to target the HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants & Catering) for food and vegetable disinfection, using automatically dosing technology developed by Arpal Gulf’s engineering department to remove any chances of human error.

The partnership between the two companies brings the latest in decontamination technology to the region’s food industry, enabling food processors and large-scale commercial caterers to offer a safer and higher quality product for consumers. The new product range will provide an effective alternative to traditional fruit and vegetable disinfectants such as chlorine, which can produce unhealthy by-products and is less effective in disinfecting organic matter.

The Sanosil formula was originally developed in Switzerland and has been used around the world for more than 25 years. The formula blends hydrogen peroxide and silver, using a complex blending process which amplifying the anti-microbial action ten-fold, delivering a formula that behaves completely different than its original ingredients.

Sanosil claims the result is a “radical fluid architecture and a multi-faceted killing mechanism against pathogens, with an extended storage life of greater than one-year which is effective against a broad range of bacteria, viruses, amoebae, fungi and algae causing food related illnesses.”
