Dukes Dubai open to public, has women-only floor

 The 279-key Dukes Dubai hotel is now open to the public. Its features include a women-only Duchess floor featuring 20 rooms, plus 227 fully furnished hotel apartments.

The five-star hotel is located on the west trunk of the Palm Jumeirah and is the first international property for Dukes, which has been popular with GCC visitors in London for decades.

"The soft opening of the hotel in December was a great success and we have already received rave reviews. We look forward to welcoming visitors and treating them to this experience,” said Seven Tides CEO Abdulla Bin Sulayem in a recent release.

In an interview with Hotelier Middle East managing director Debrah Dhugga said: “We’re bringing this whole British hospitality experience over to Dubai and that’s going to be our USP. What we want to work on is the service levels and bringing in the right people from all over the world who specialise in their field.”

Serving modern British brasserie-style cuisine, the hotel’s signature outlet Great British Restaurant (GBR) will operate under the culinary direction of executive chef Martin Cahill. The menu of includes popular British dishes such as cod and chips, Lancashire hot pot, Colchester Oysters and Dover sole.

Guests can also head to Dukes Bar, which is famed for its signature selection of martinis or West 14th.
