Waldorf Dubai hires business development director

With 19 years in the luxury hotel industry and 14 years of experience in sales and marketing, Marwa Pasha has joined the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah as the new director of business development.

Pasha began her career in sales and marketing in Canada with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts’ Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta.

Following her experience in Alberta, she moved to Abu Dhabi in the UAE to pursue a senior sales manager role, and rose to the position of director of sales through both IHG and Shangri-La.

With extensive experience in the UAE and Qatar, Pasha has gained expertise in the pre-opening stages and launches for different services in luxury hotels, from F&B to overall departmental functions.

Her pre-opening experience incorporated all sales and marketing activities of launching hotels, from setting up the sales and marketing department and the management of team hiring, to the creation and implementation of marketing plans, financial plans, and training.

As director of business development, she will oversee all sales, corporate and marketing activities and MICE strategies. She will also lead strategic campaigns across: the property’s suites, including Dubai’s largest suite, the Royal Suite; the restaurants such as Social by Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck; theWaldorf Astoria Spa; and the conference, wedding and event facilities.
